The difference between a Venue Coordinator
As wedding planners, one of the most common questions we are asked is how we differ from a venue coordinator. Both venue coordinators and wedding coordinators are a fabulous asset to add to your wedding day team. However it is very important to note that all though they may sound very similar, these two roles are very different . Some brides choose to have either a wedding coordinator or venue coordinator, some brides choose to have both. If you are trying to decide which option would most suit your needs, its best to fully understand the roles and responsibilities of both.
A venue coordinator's priority is to manage your wedding at their venue and ensure it goes as discussed. They are responsible for everything included with the venue. Venue coordinators should ensure all your catering and bar needs are met, as well as the set up of your tables, chairs, and table settings. Most venue's will create a timeline with you for events taking place at their location, however if your ceremony/reception is not taking place on site that will not be their responsibility. In some cases venue coordinators will also oversee the set of your decor but venue coordinators duties can vary from venue to venue, so it is very important to determine what is and isn't included in their services. Another thing to keep in mind while making your decision is that most venue coordinators are only required to stay on site until the catering service is complete, after that usually a banquet captain or someone of a similar role is left for the remainder of the evening.
A wedding coordinator's responsibility is to ensure every aspect of your wedding goes as you` planned. Our day of timeline begins the moment you wake up and continues until you arrive at your hotel or home at the end of the evening. It is our responsibility to make sure every detail whether hair, makeup, transportation, decor, and so on runs smoothly. A wedding coordinator should be in contact with all vendors involved with your wedding and most should stay until the very end of the event. Many wedding coordinators can or do include setup and cleanup of all your decorations as well. As a wedding coordinator, our job is to take on all the stress of the day so you can relax without having to worry about the timeline and details. Everything is completed in accordance to your timeline and specifications. our goal for the event is to handle any and all hiccups without having to burden you with them. Our biggest priority is helping you achieve your dream wedding day and solving any problems that may arise.
