Size does matter…When it comes to planning your big day!
Whether you're planning a grand affair inviting all friends, family, and coworkers or you’re having an intimate day with only your closest friends and family… It’s important to start your guest list as soon as possible.
The guest list will determine a number of things when it comes to planning your big day. No matter how large or small the number is, it will affect many important aspects of your day such as venue choices, decor options, and catering costs. We recommend brides consider making two lists, one for the guests that must be invited and another of those who you would like to have there if the budget/venue permits. It is also important to get an invite wishlist from both the brides and grooms parents, however if you're tight on size we recommend setting a limit on the number.
Another thing to consider while making your guest list will be the guest additions. You will need to decide whether or not to invite children and if singles are invited to bring a date. We would suggest not making this decision based per individual as this may upset those not invited to bring a date or their children. Sending out save the dates before the invitations go out is a great way to give guests the opportunity to decline early if they know they will not be able to attend. This can be very useful for brides because it allows additions to be made to the guest list.
Guest lists can sometimes be one of the more stressful tasks to complete during the planning of your wedding. While it’s great to consider the opinions and wishes of others, you also must remember what is important to you. Enjoy the planning process and journey to your big day and as they say, don’t sweat the small stuff. If you have any questions regarding building your guest list, guest list templates, or any other wedding plans we would love to hear from you.
