Neal and I met in November of 2011 at the greasiest biker bar in White Rock. I was there having a nightcap with a girlfriend and he was there with some of his rugby buddies. Neal had a rookie in tow and placed the poor guy in the middle of my girlfriend and I while we were dancing. Not going to lie, I did have a little fun dancing around a youngster. It wasn’t long after Neal noticed my epic dance moves when he walked past me and asked “So when are you going to ask me to dance”………. While he walked away I was think to myself ~ Wow, now that’s something I could have some fun with!….. And here we are today.
August of 2013 we packed up our beloved fur babies and headed out on a road trip to Canon Beach. It was a fly by the seat of your pants kind of road trip! We ended up camping at the most amazing ranch at the end of Canon Beach. After two days of rain and a soggy tent Neal books us a beach ride on horses. Being a good old horse girl this was right up my alley. As we’re riding along the beach Neal’s talking about all kinds of amazing things that we’ve accomplished together and telling me how much he adores me, meanwhile my head’s in the clouds and nothing is registering. We get out to a beautiful view point and he jumps off his wild beast. At this point I start telling Neal that he wasn’t supposed to get off the horse, nagging him for what looked to be tying his shoe lace in front of the horse so on and so on….. I had no idea what on earth he was doing at his point and certainly wasn’t listening a word he was saying! Finally I realized what was going on and jump off my horse screaming YES YES YES……. Mrs. Kinskofer WOOHOOOOOOOOOO! He followed up the proposal with champagne and a surprise overnight stay in the honeymoon suite!!
Neal and I have picked my parents acreage in South Langley as our venue since this is the property I was born and raised on. We are getting married July 26th which is exactly one month from when both our parent s got married and now celebrating 37 yrs!! My parents we Married June 26th and Neal’s parents were married June 25th of the same year, CRAZY! Being a farm girl at heart and having spent endless hours in the barn with my horses this seems like the most perfect place to tie the knot! We are doing the Chic Country style wedding with ferns and lavender everywhere. I have always had a very clear vision of what I wanted our day to look like and feel like and Neal and I are on the right path to creating exactly what we want. We both figure with live music, great food and one epic bartender this will be an amazing day!
Throughout the planning I have really enjoyed meeting the people we have chosen to have work with us to create this amazing day. One of the most fun things so far has been our food tastings (Thanks Drew Cooks)! People have always said it’s a lot of work but really you can’t even being to imagine until you are actually in the mix of it all. We are so looking forward to enjoying all of our guests and watching them enjoy what we’ve put together. They entire property is littered with small tokens of who we are and what we are all about.
All the best to the brides to be ~ Sit back and enjoy the ride the day of because it will only come once!!!
Cheers ~ Stacey and Neal
