There’s an easy way to avoid a wedding day disaster and it’s simple – get organized.
First things first. The most important decision to make is your venue. Every venue is different: some have your basic needs covered (tables, chairs etc.), while some include full package services (set-up and day of event planning). Another thing you need to consider while finding your venue is their list of rules. Some allow outside catering, while others have on-site food services. A few venues allow you a day or two in the venue to allow time for set-up/strike while others only allow for day of set-up and take down. You may also consider a tented event which will allow you the freedom to choose what you’d like as far as food, set-up and day-of activities go.
Next step – Rentals. With your venue and caterer request lists in tow it’s time to get your rentals secured. Coming prepared will make your rental experience a breeze. The less changes you make to an order the better. Numerous additions, switching, and removals of items increase your chances of something slipping through the cracks. We recommend booking your rental six to nine months in advance, then following up to make adjustments after your RSVP’s have come in - usually a month or two before your event date.
A tent rental serves as a flexible, esthetic alternative to indoor venues. Besides the esthetic advantage, we find that control over three aspects of the event is the biggest practical advantage to using tent rentals. Location Control; A tent rental allows you to transport your event to the location of your choice. Time Control; a tent rental on time-flexible sites give you adequate set-up and take down time. A tent rental from Classic Party Rentals in Abbotsford generally allows a minimum 3 day window including tent set-up to takedown. In some cases, even more time can be arranged. Weather Control. A tent will control your exposure to the weather.
Chair rentals most commonly have two uses: Table seating for dining, and audience style row seating. Choose a rental chair with the shape, height & color to fit into your overall design. We find that the most common chair rental accessories are linen rentals in the form of sashes & chair covers. For row seating, similar chair decorating techniques are used. The row ends may have aisle markers on them. For many outdoor weddings, chairs do double duty, being arranged in rows for the ceremony and then moved back under the tent or for the reception.
Aluminum tables have many advantages & no real disadvantages over plastic & wood tables. They are light weight for easy set up & are under union maximum weight requirements for one person. They are heat proof at normal food prep temperatures & provide the highest weight bearing capacity of all rental tables on the market. They are stain resistant, are impermeable to the staple gunslingers & have no rough surfaces to damage linens.
Linen rentals are one of their most essential tools in creating the look of your event. Pipe & drape will hide unsightly walls, diminish the size of overly large venues, direct traffic and give you full control over focus. Swags of draped fabric are often used very effectively to drop the ceilings in high venues such as gymnasiums, convention halls or when tent rentals are used. Shorter widths of pipe & drape may be used as a backdrop behind head tables or on stage. Overlays, table runners, chairs sashes and napkins are the final touch and can be layered over the background colours for a pop of colour with stunning effects.
